Factors that influence PvP in Aion

There are a number of factors that play a part during pvp combat. These include but not limited to:
Level;
Gear;
Skills;
Skill of the person;
Getting first hit;
Balance of classes;
Strength in Numbers;
Luck.

Level has to be the largest factor out of all of these. It's largest because it places a restriction on a couple of the others.
The next factor that is restricted by level is the skills. Like armor, learning skills requires you to obtain a minimum level. Having the right skills, or at least certain skills depending on class, can make or break your chances of winning the fight.

Gear and skills. Much of which has already been covered with level. With all things the same, the person who is better geared has an upper hand. Again, with all things the same, the person who has more skills to choose from during a fight has the upper hand.

Skill of the player. Provided that you have identical characters (same level, gear, skills, etc.) the outcome to a fight comes squarely upon who can play their character best. This doesn't solely refer to the best use of skills in the best combination but can also include how you move your character and utilizing your surroundings.

Getting the first hit. This is a big one when you consider how some of the class skills work.

Not all classes are the same and some do have something about them that gives them an edge over the others.

Strength in numbers. This is pretty self explanatory. A group of 6 30's will more than likely kill a 50 regardless of gear, skills, player skill, etc.

Luck. Many of the skills have affects that may not happen. Also some skills in a chain only have a % chance to happen. You landing a hit and not being resisted or evaded is all affected by chance. Something that may or may not occur and depending on how often things happen it can mean the difference between victory and defeat.
